Well, there's no secret - I love fun people and I love great locations. Christi & Matt are an energetic couple who, not only can relax in front of the camera, but you can really how much they love each other. We also shot at Oakfield Park in Fall River and I've been shooting there like mad this summer. There are so many wonderful locations all within one park. I can't wait to shoot their wedding in 2011 because, without sounding corny, it's because of people like them that I love my job so much.

Jenny & Nick are awesome.
I met them last year and it's been fun being involved with them throughout this whole wedding planning process. For their engagement shoot, they wanted to be at their elementary school, Gertrude Parker in Sackville, as that is where they met back in the day. I was thrilled to see the fantastic images we got on the school grounds (I even told them after the shoot that I would have no problem shooting a wedding session there).
What a shoot - they show their love for each other and completely forget about me. It's exactly what I want. I can't wait for their wedding.

Earlier this month, Dolcetto Designs, a talented Canadian custom photo card and invitation company put on a contest asking people to show off their favourite engagement shot. One of my past wedding clients won with a wonderful photo which was shot at Crystal Crescent Beach one morning a few summers ago. This was right after we all got rocked by a truly rogue wave. You may recognize Jo from my Facebook Fan Page, my business cards and various other photo shoots over the last couple of years. She 's doing great with her new business, If It Glitters and I look forward to photographing them again.

Well, well, well. Natt & Matt (or Mattalie) are finally getting married. I'm quite excited to photograph their wedding but haven't yet completely figured out how I'm going to get the family shots...um...with me in them. It'll be a bit of, "hey Jilly, come over here and press this button." Not only do I have honour of photographing my own sisters wedding this August (Friday the 13th) but I will also be shooting my brothers wedding this September. I look forward to getting John and Aimee out for a shoot before their wedding.

I really like Serge & Nicole. They are fun to be around and both love life. We decided to do a sunrise engagement shoot (which we later found out sunrise would be at 5:30). Nicole wanted to do it on Queensland beach - an hour away. So our alarms were all set for 4:00am. Yup - It may have been a little early to be romantic. But we got some great shots and I look forward to posting more later. But here is one of my faves.
I also found out they are both from the same area as my father in law (Saulnierville & Meteghan area down past Digby) and this will be where the wedding is. So, I'm pretty fired up about that - Acadians are fun and very hospitable. Should be fun.

Well that was a lot of snow. But I'm glad it's gone. Karla and Jon wanted an engagement shoot in the snow and that white stuff stuck around for nearly a week. We shot this in our hometown of Fall River, just outside Halifax. Their wedding is in May and I'm so glad I'm their wedding photographer.

Do you know someone getting married in Nova Scotia next summer and looking for a wedding photographer? I still have several dates available for Halifax wedding bookings or for weddings outside Nova scotia as I'm now shooting destination weddings and have several booked for 2010. If you are interested in available dates for your wedding, please never hesitate to contact me.

Mandi and Mark have asked me to shoot their wedding...in Cuba. Yup, looking forward to that. But first we wanted some authentic Nova Scotia engagement shots and chose Antigonish in autumn (where they met and went to school...St. FX, of course). It was a very fun shoot. Cuba is gonna rock.

Jessica & Allan have asked me to shoot their wedding in May, 2010 and I can't wait to do it. This was our engagement shoot and we had a wonderfully foggy morning at Peggy's Cove and the waves were just right to make for a very cool background.

Christine Lynds: Trevor: I am Jessica's mother and I cry everytime I look at the pictures you took of Allan and Jessica - you are amazing and I am looking forward to the wedding pictures! I love the shot of their feet :-) on 12.05.09
If you are looking for a great gift for the bride and groom in your family, why not give an engagement shoot? We'll spend an hour and a half at the location of their choice and I'll hook them up with a disc of all their images after I'm done playing with them. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all.
