Last weekend, after many rained out dates, I finally hooked up with Melissa & Matthew, owners of MŌDA Urban Dining, for a very special themed photo shoot. Not only were they celebrating their one year anniversary with this shoot but it was also...possibly...going to be a little Trash the Dress session too. (For all of you who don't know about my thoughts on a wedding dress; I'm against ruining a dress as there are many people out there deserving of a wonderful dress and may not be able to afford one for their wedding day...but getting one a little wet - that's cool.). Their plan actually was going to just do a cute picnic scene, eat a replica of their wedding cake and watch Matthew fish while in his suit. However, after a few glasses (tea cups) of champagne, Melissa decided to hop in the water for a little more photograhy fun!
Matthew is an avid fisherman and knew a sweet spot for the shoot and I was stunned at the beauty of it all (it's somewhere back in the woods off the 103, just outside Halifax) but the blackflies were...well...not good. We were bitten like mad (a week later and we're all still scratching) and you can spot them in many of the photos, ceretainly the backlit ones (actually, there is one biting my eyelid in my Instragram selfie)... but we didn't care. We were having too much fun.
I really love my job.
